Immersed
in the tradition of European hospitality, the Gasthaus Eichler delivers
world-class service to all those who enter through their doors. The
owners, Joan and René Weder along with their international
staff, carry the long-standing reputation of service excellence and
outstanding food delivered daily. René, a native of the
Rhein Valley, Switzerland and Joan, Sleepy Hollow, New York have
designed their familiar guesthouse and dining rooms to reflect the
charm and elegance of the true European experience.
Nestled among pine trees along Vasquez Creek, Gasthaus Eichler was
established in 1987. Built by Hans and Hannelore Eichler of Rhein
Valley, Germany. Joan and René purchased the business in
2003 bringing years of experience in the hospitability industry to the
town of Winter Park. René, a European trained Chef came to
America in 1984. After thirty years as an Executive Chef and Food and
Beverage Director in such fine establishment as the Boca Raton Hotel
& Resort, the Beaver Creek Hyatt, the Brown Palace Hotel and
Chateau Élan & Resorts it was time to head home to
the mountains.
Gasthaus Eichler is a Colorado Landmark, custom built of white stucco
and dark log bringing a genuine atmosphere of the Alps to the cozy town
of Winter Park. Standing on several acres of land where guests are free
to wander about the lawns, along the creek as they enjoy the
exceptional peace and tranquility of their surroundings. The views from
the Gasthaus are some of nature’s masterpieces. To the South,
the slopes of Winter Park and MaryJane, the East brings the
breathtaking views of the Continental Divide, North, the lush meadows
of the open valley and the West brings the water coursing over the
rocks of the Vasquez Creek and vast expanses of the Arapahoe National
Forest.
Relaxation is the theme; listen to the sounds of the creek, the whistle
of a passing train and breath in the sweet, pure Rocky Mountain air.
